Borboleta_te was born from a profound journey of self-discovery and transformation, envisioned and brought to life by artist and founder Sara Correia in June 2020. At a time of global uncertainty, when the pandemic had disrupted lives and work opportunities had become scarce, this project emerged as a response to both an external crisis and an internal calling. It became a means of creative expression, resilience, and reinvention.


Drawing inspiration from the beauty of nature, spirituality, and ancestral traditions, Sara began crafting unique handmade pieces using the materials she had at hand. This organic process led to the creation of the very first Borboleta_te items—delicate dream catchers, symbolic spirit catchers, and intricate jewelry, each infused with intention and meaning. Every piece carried a story, a reflection of transformation, and an invitation to connect with art, intuition, and the unseen.


What started as a necessity soon evolved into a passion-driven endeavor, where creativity intertwined with personal growth. Borboleta_te continues to thrive as a space for artistic exploration, offering handcrafted pieces that serve as reminders of beauty, balance, and the power of transformation.

The process of learning different techniques was entirely self-taught. It unfolded naturally, flowing with creativity and intuition, until the challenge arose to create more complex pieces such as lamps, wall panels, and even macramé sunshades. This pushed the boundaries of the craft, allowing for continuous learning and refinement of the technique.

The support of friends and family was invaluable in bringing this dream to life, providing encouragement and inspiration every step of the way!

The desire to create unique pieces for unique individuals soon became the heart of Borboleta_te. Each item is fully customizable, allowing ideas to merge and take form in extraordinary ways. It is a space for self-expression, freedom, and creativity, where handcrafted pieces bring lightness and joy to those who wear them. Honoring and respecting the essence of each person, Sara fell in love with the process of creation.
